Q: I have never taken a dance class before, which class is right for me?

 

Welcome! All of our classes are labeled with a level. If you are completely new to dancing we encourage you to take our 8-week absolute beginner course.

Our DROP-IN choreography classes are geared toward dancers who have formal dance training. Our DANCE COURSES are geared towards those who are just starting out or for dancers exploring a new dance style.

For those new to dance, please try these courses, in the following order:

Q: What class types do you offer?

 

Ballet, Technique, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz, Jazz Funk, Hip-Hop, Grooves, Breaking, Dance Fitness, Latin Fusion and Heels. You can see full class descriptions here.


Q: How old do I have to be to take class?

 

Ages 12+ unless specified on the schedule. Heels classes are ages 17+


Q: What levels do you offer?

 

Absolute Beginner, Intro, Beginner, Beginner/Intermediate, Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced, ALL LEVELS and Master Classes.


Q: What shoes do I wear/what do i bring?

 

Ballet | Ballet shoes or socks recommended

Ballet Barre, Pilates, Yoga | Please bring a mat, socks or bare feet recommended

Contemporary, Lyrical | bare feet or socks recommended

Jazz Funk, Hip-Hop, Grooves | Sneakers

Heels | A supportive chunky or stiletto heel that wraps the ankle


Q: How do I sign up for class?

 

You can sign up for class on the Mindbody app or on our website. Click here to sign up. You can also pay at the door however, space is limited so we recommend signing up ahead of time to guarantee your spot.


Q: What is your cancellation policy?

 

Please be sure to cancel your class at least 2 hours before the class start time to receive a class credit to your account. A no-show or a late cancel will result in the loss of your class. Unlimited memberships are subject to a $10 late cancel/no show fee.


Q: How do I cancel a reservation?

 

Cancellations can be made on the Mindbody app. Once you cancel, you will see the class automatically go back into your account. **Classes must be cancelled at least 2 hours prior to the class start time to receive a class credit to your account. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your class or a $10 late cancel/no show fee for members.


Q: How can I see and stay up to date with your schedule?

 

Schedule is posted daily on our instagram page @release_detroit, on the MindBody app and on our website under the “SCHEDULE” tab. If a class is cancelled on our end, it will be posted on both the MindBody app and Schedule page of our website.


Q: How long do I have to use the classes?

 

Single sessions and discounted class packages expire one month from date of purchase.


Q: Can I share my package with a friend?

 

No, classes cannot be transferred or shared.


Q: Can I use my package for any of your classes?

 

Yes, single sessions and packages can be used across all of our classes with the exception of master classes + workshops.


Q: How do I determine how many classes I have left?

 

You can see how many classes you have left by logging into your MindBody app and viewing your account.


Q: Do you offer refunds?

 

We do not offer any refunds, we apologize for the inconvenience.


Q: Do you offer any discounts?

 

You can join our email list for special offers and discounts by scrolling to the bottom of the page here.


Q: Do you offer child care services?

 

At this time, we do not offer child care. We apologize for any inconvenience.


Q: Do you have a place to change/shower?

 

We have two restrooms and a getting ready station. We do not have a shower.


Q: Is there parking available?

 

Yes, we have plenty of FREE parking available on-site in both the front of our building and behind our building. We also have a front and rear entrance for your convenience.


Q: Do you offer private group lessons? If so, what are your rates?

 

Yes! We offer private dance experiences to celebrate your birthday, bachelorette parties and more.

$100 to rent the space + $25 per head (under 10 people)
$20 per head (over 10 people)
